Cowtastic!

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

This year over Cornwall, life-size fibre glass cows have been cropping up. Each one has been decorated by an artist living in Cornwall. I applied months ago and was chosen by the Tregothnan Estate. The cow was named ‘Manatee’ by the Boscawen children; I chose to decorate her with an undersea scene and manatee is the name of a sea cow.

Manatee is currently on location at Tresillian, a couple of miles out of Truro towards St. Austell, until Sunday 30th August 2009. She will then be on display at the Hall for Cornwall on Lemon Quay in Truro on the 1st and 2nd September. On Sunday 13th September the sculptures will be available for anyone to buy, with all profits going to Hall for Cornwall’s Loved to Bits campaign, which exists to keep the theatre open, licensable and safe.

Below are some images of Manatee in progress & on location.
