I often get asked where the name “spacefruit” came from.

Well. When I left university I made a load of tentacled, spiked organic papier mache sculptures, large & small, brightly coloured, sometimes glow in the dark & usually u-v light friendly. They were bought by clubs, lent out to people having mad parties (they usually came back muddy or covered in bird poo!!!) & generally hung about being played with & commented on.

Someone one night suggested that they were “spacefruit” & the name stuck to the sculptures & to the rest of my work. & here are some pictures of them…

So here I am, on this beautiful sunny, windy, blue-skied day attempting to write a ”BIOGRAPHY”.
It’s been taking me some time.
Hmm.
The problem is, where to start?
Do I be serious (not sure how) or jokey (& will they see that its jokey or think that I’m just a bit crazy & self-loving?)
How do I know what is relevant & what is not?!
& How on EARTH do I choose just ONE image to send them?!
Big sigh.
I shall carry on carrying on…..
